It works when I view the blog directly, but not in Google Reader. Can anything be done about it?

Google Reader would have to link to mathjax, I guess. Individual feed items (and the feed itself) don't know about scripts linked to on the main site. – Raphael Dec 9 '11 at 11:32

Feeds strip away JS which is what adds Mathjax which in turn renders tex.

The best way I have seen is to get greasemonkey script to force MathJax into a page if you are using firefox. I also remember a chrome extension Math Anywhere which you can use you to render as well. Look for "Math Anywhere" in Chrome store you should be able to find it. Not a perfect solution, mind you there will be glitches and some frustrations but you can read posts from google reader.

SE should be able to render MathJax as images in the RSS feed. That'll show the problem.
