Should the question about structure of resolution proofs be closed? When you're writing code do you call the compiler a "@#%&" when it doesn't know what a "whl" loop is or how to "tpdef" something? Is it acceptable to write a fifty line program when five clean lines will do? It's the same situation here. |

Should the question about structure of resolution proofs be closed? I think that (in general) rambling, poorly edited posts do have a negative impact on the site. Of course not everyone is a native English speaker, but it's bad when the OP makes no effort to be coherent. Good science is done through clear and precise writing. |

Theoretical Computer Science Top User Swag Oh man, I'm the last person on the 2nd page, and actually tied with the top guy on the 3rd page. You guys are awesome for doing this. +1 to Raphael and +1 to Joshua - it would be nice to be able to order some of this stuff too. |

On conventions for citation, acknowledgement and authorship I agree with Kaveh. Soft questions should be rarer, and be held to higher standards. |

Deleting comments On a side note, I hope that people don't withhold comments purely out of concern for potentially being wrong. One of my favorite parts of TCSSE is that we can discuss ideas even if they don't pan out. |

Battle of the sites - cancelled I think you posted this in good faith, but it seems a bit childish. The reason I like SE so much is that it has an academic feel and generally steers clear of internet memes as much as possible. This contest misses the point. |

Can anyone weight in on this area51 proposal on Computer Science? I think Artem's comment on the linked question was dead on. There are already so many CS related Stack Exchange sites that yet another would serve no purpose. He didn't even mention "Programmers". |

Misclicked Question Vote Thanks Tsuyoshi. I had to be very careful to click the check mark instead of the down arrow :-). |

Misclicked Question Vote @Jukka - I thought about doing that, but it seemed like more of a meta issue. I didn't want to disrupt the good technical discussion in the comments with something mundane. It was on this question: cstheory.stackexchange.com/questions/4703/… |

Misclicked Question Vote I'm not going to try, but since I have sufficient reputation to edit the question I wonder if I could "cheat" by making a null edit myself and then flipping the vote. |
